Sammi won a total of seven awards, 3 of them from the Hit Radio 997 awards, 3 of them from the RTHK awards and one from the JSG/TVB awards.

However the main talking point had to be the JSG/TVB awards. The main talking point was when Faye Wong won the best female artiste award, the group of Sammi fans expressed their dislike by shouting etc. When Sammi was interviewed about this, she denied ever hearing any of the "boos" and commented that as she sat in the front row, she couldn't hear anything going on behind, and said she fulfilled her duty as a singer and appeared at the award ceremony.

Nicolas Tse even commented that the Sammi fans who apparently insulted Faye acted like uncivilised people and praised Leon Lai fans for being quiet and well behaved.

Long ago it was rumoured that Sammi acted in the Pet's Drama for the award that Faye won, and thus created a lot of controvesy. However since Faye won that award, and after that Sammi missed the first promotional event of the drama, it was said that it was a "silent protest" from Sammi
